It is the night of July 28th, 64 A.D., the Great Fire of Rome has just come to an end.
Eager to pin the blame on his enemies, the diabolical emperor Nero has just imprisoned the enigmatic figure known as PAUL OF TARSUS; intending to use the fire as an excuse to publicly execute him along with any others associated with Rome’s quickly growing counter-cultural movement known as “The Way.”
Racing against the clock, a former Roman Centurion (JULIUS, late 50s) teams up with one of Paul’s closest companions (LUKE, late 40s) to find out where Paul is being held, before it is too late. But debate breaks out between the two men over what the best course of action is, and what Paul’s ultimate wishes actually are.
As this is happening, they recount the events that led up to now. Namely, their transformational experience with Paul five years ago on a catastrophic voyage across the Mediterranean that shook Julius to his core, confirmed Luke’s deepest beliefs, and altered the lives of all 276 men aboard.
Based on the harrowing and awe-inspiring 1st Century account recorded in Acts 27 & 28.
